After teaming up for the cult film Dehli Belly and numerous award winning commercials, Parallel Journeys once again brings together Prime Focus Co-Founder and Creative Director of the commercials division, Huzefa Lokhandwala, and Director Abhinay Deo.
Featuring the likes of MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, R Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane from the Indian cricket team, the commercial parallels the journey of hard work, training and dedication young cricketers take to achieve success, just like the professional players, to excel in the sport.
Talking about the commercial, Huzefa, who edited the spot, said, “The commercial takes you through numerous journeys of young cricketers as well as members of the Indian cricket team – from waking up, getting dressed for practice, travelling, training intensively, coming to the pitch amid the cheering of crowds, through to the first ball of the game.” The commercial shows young athletes from different parts of the nation following the same drill, conveying the message of unity and how they all “Bleed Blue”.
Online work on the spot was completed by Asad Ansari on Smoke where over 200 shots had to be matched from offline to online. Numerous cleanups were completed and additions of lens flares and backgrounds were completed on Smoke. Talking about his experience, Asad said, “Working with creative geniuses like Huzefa and Abhinay was an honour and an absolutely inspiring experience.”
