Dear Zindagi is an Indian drama film directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, and Gauri Shinde under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions, and Hope Productions respectively. Starring Alia Bhatt as the lead and Shah Rukh Khan as her psychiatrist, Dear Zindagi is about Kaira (Alia) - an aspiring cinematographer who does small ads and projects but wants to shoot an entire feature film. The movie traces Kaira’s sessions with Dr Jehangir Khan who advices her on practicalities of life, handling relationships, dealing with one’s feelings, staying happy and much more. The ensemble cast also includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi and Siddharth Shukla.
Dear Zindagi released worldwide on 25 November 2016 and grossed ₹ 120 crore at the Global Box Office. Prime Focus delivered DI and equipment rental services for the film.
