Pepsi India has rolled out a film that extends its "Pepsi thi yaar, pi gaya' (‘It was Pepsi, I drank it’) campaign. The ad was conceptualized by J. Walter Thompson and directed by Vivek Kakad, who has directed many TVC’s for Pepsi in the past. This latest ad was produced by Curious Films and Prime Focus editors Shivkumar Panicker and Rajiv Sundararaju, who have worked on previous Pepsi campaigns, delivered offline and online editing services respectively.
The TVC opens in a locker room where players are shown cooling down and relaxing after a NFL game. Among them there are two teammates who embrace each other with hugs and then look towards the refrigerator to find out that there is only one bottle of Pepsi left. To battle it out for the Pepsi bottle the duo challenge each other to an arm-wrestling contest. As their team-mates surround them to cheer them on, a boy walks into the locker room and spots the Pepsi bottle. Oblivious to the reason for the arm-wrestling challenge, he pops the bottle open and downs the drink. The winner of the arm-wrestling challenge turns to look at the boy, who whispers 'Pepsi thi, pi gaya' before putting the empty bottle on the table and saying “Cheers”.
