Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi was released on 3700 screens in 50 countries worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on January 25th 2019. The Indian epic biographical period drama film is inspired by the real life story of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, played by Kangana Ranaut in the movie. The movie’s cast and crew received felicitation by the President of India. This masterpiece, directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, joined the 100 crore club within a week of its release.
The story of Manikarnika revolves around the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai. It covers her journey of becoming a valiant queen right from the beginning – her marriage to Gangadhar Rao. It begins by describing the blooming romance in their marriage and Rani Lakshmi Bai’s keen interest in the art of war and politics. It showcases how she was different from other wives and stood against the East India Company at various instances that eventually led to her revolting against them after her husband’s death. The war, her courage and her skills of war and politics are the highlights of this entertainment packed film.
